Rumpus for Mac v8.1.1
Start a FTP server on your Mac via a user-friendly assistant, and access the server from a web console or with the help of a FTP client
Rumpus is designed to help you transfer or share files without having to use third party servers or complex setups. The utility helps you start an FTP server on your Mac, and allows users to connect via the web console or by using an FTP client.
Start an FTP server by using a straightforward setup assistant
To simplify the configuration procedure as much as possible, Rumpus packs a Setup Assistant that prompts you to specify the folder for the FTP server, to create a secure user account, and to enable the WFM.
After the initial configuration is complete, Rumpus automatically launches the Get Connected panel where you learn how to connect to the server via a web browser, through an FTP client, or from outside the LAN.
Note that this panel can be opened anytime you need by going through the app’s Help menu. The same area provides access to the auto-setup tools for some of the most popular Rumpus features.
Use your Mac to exchange files with others without running complex maintenance tasks
By using the FTP server created by Rumpus, you can either distribute packages or allow users to send content to your Mac.
Note that Rumpus integrates user management tools and permits you to configure the access privileges for each account, to define maximum upload and download rates, and so on.
Personalize the FTP server to increase its performance
Even though Rumpus helps you start and configure an FTP server that has built-in web file transfer capabilities right out of the box, the utility comes with an extensive collection of customization options that allows you to tweak its performance to your own needs.
